The Thought Provoking and Sheer Amazement That is Buckethead!

So on today's blog post we will be left in astonishment and sheer amazement as we partake in the musical blessing provided to us by the mysterious mask wearing guitar virtuoso known by the world as Buckethead. (hype intensifies within my heart!) Mr.Buckethead is a guitarist that truly stands out from the crowd, with his robotic inspired outlook, superior guitar playing (more on that in a moment), and his love for all things that are NOT normal.
A quick bio about this masked man, or even woman for we know, Buckethead has been making music since the mid 80's, providing soundtracks for horror movies, as well as instrumentation for various video games including the opening theme to the infamous arcade shooter Galaga. But Buckehead is a fellow who keeps to himself, as any credit he deserves is never truly publicized; someone who likes to work in the shadows presumably. His website,http://www.bucketheadland.com/, provides a biography that is not quite you expect. It tells the story of how Buckethead was raised by chickens after his mother passed away. He swore to provide his mother's soul with music that would make her proud; and boy has he done that.
I had the privilege of seeing Buckethead live in Austin last year in October, and I have never dropped my jaw lower in my life! What Buckehead is famous for is his extensive variety of musical styles that incorporate all his skills from incredibly fast arpeggios, to the astonishing technique known as 8 finger tapping! His work is all done with well calculated precision, never missing a note, yet he has been known to play off key but make it work within a musical prowess that only Buckethead can understand. One minute he presents us with a face melting display of extreme speed guitar playing backed by unstoppable bravado, and the next we are treated to some of the most beautiful melodic soulful playing that would make even the greatest of blues players weep with joy.
The video above only demonstrates a small portion of what this guitar behemoth can do. His fast psycho-tronic guitar playing is fueled by years and years of dedication to the instrument. I strongly recommend giving his many playlists on YouTube a listen as they will surely not disappoint.
I am a simple-minded guitarist, and I enjoy Buckethead like a shot of inspiration to the heart!
